Services

The Burnett County Veteran Services Office provides timely and accurate information and assistance to acquire available federal and state benefits for our veterans and their dependents.

We counsel, assist, and advocate for veterans and dependents in issues with federal and state benefits, military matters, and referrals.

We primarily work with the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Veteran Services also works closely with local service providers and other county departments as needs arise.

Responsibilities

The Veteran Services office is responsible for:

  • Process applications for VA Health Benefits, VA SC disability (Compensation), or VA Pension for VA loans
  • Provide information on education benefits
  • Record military discharges
  • Assist with Annual Income Verification Reports

Veteran Services reports to the Health and Community Services Committee. For meeting times and location, please go to the county government calendar.
