Online Access To Burnett County Documents
Tapestry - for Occasional Professional Users
Tapestry is an Internet access program designed for the occasional user working in a real estate-related business. If you do not have a good real estate background, you are best advised to visit the office of your local register of deeds and get assistance to locate your documents. If you do have a good real estate background, you will have no difficulty using Tapestry. Tapestry also offers access to other counties in the Midwest. Fees are assessed to pay for support and maintenance of the system.
Laredo - for Daily, Local Professional Users
Laredo is an Internet access program designed for title insurance firms and other real estate-related firms that operate in Wisconsin and need access daily to the land records in the Burnett County Register of Deeds office. If your real estate-related firm needs only occasional access, or if your computer expertise is limited, please consider using Tapestry instead. Fees are assessed to pay for support and maintenance of the system. Email our department to have an account set up.
With Laredo and Tapestry you will be able to access index information and document images from 1963 to present, subdivision plats, all certified survey maps, Federal Tax Liens filed in the county from 1990 to present, and Notice of Lis Pendens 1996 to present (Lis Pendens are indexed without images prior to 1996 - contact our office if you need a copy where an image is not present).
You will need Win2000 or later, and Internet Explorer version 6.0 or better with security settings set to low. A fast processor, modem and large, high-resolution screen are recommended. A "wall-paper" screen saver interferes with accessing images. If your firm is large and you have a firewall or internet by proxy, you will require assistance from your technical support services.
Customers may select the "per minute" plan that meets their needs. Please fill out and return the Laredo Agreement (PDF) to get set up with your plan. User fees pay for system maintenance and lease of software.
Certified and uncertified copies of records may also be obtained in person, through the mail, or by contacting our office via phone at 715-349-2183 or email us.
Burnett County is in the process of back-indexing. Therefore, earliest index and image dates are subject to change.
